The Wild is calling

Throughout October we celebrated the release of our latest high jewellery collection Wild by Paspaley, with a series of nature themed events across the country.

On arrival in Sydney and Melbourne guests were immersed in a tunnel sensory experience with the colours and sounds of the Kimberley. In Brisbane, Darwin and Perth guests were introduced to the stunning jewellery display encompassing wild inspired flowers and mounds of Kimberley pindan sand.

Guest then enjoyed a sumptuous three-course brunch or champagne and canapes featuring Paspaley Pearl meat, while Paspaley family members and designers shared the inspiration and craftmanship behind the Wild collection.

Baz Luhrmann

Celebrated film director, actor, writer and producer – Baz Luhrmann is known for his many talents.

He is also known for his unique style and creative vision, as celebrated in his most noteworthy films, Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge, Australia, The Great Gatsby, and most recently, Elvis.

It was for the recent Elvis premier that Baz tasked Paspaley with creating a stunning, lustrous pearl strand that would become his signature look for the season.

He wears a Paspaley Rhapsody strand. Each is one-of-a-kind, featuring a myriad of beautiful pearl shapes and sizes. Measuring over two metres in length, each can be playfully detached into bracelets and smaller necklaces depending on the occasion – for Baz, his signature look is often worn as a choker strand.

Behind the Scenes - Wild by Paspaley

We are wild inside. The Wild campaign story is dedicated to the enigmatic spirit of the Paspaley woman. Life can subdue her if she lets it. But she knows she’s at her most powerful in her natural state – when she trusts herself, listens to her wildest instincts and honours her emotions.

The Wild collection that adorns our muse Leila George comes straight from nature. Inspired by pearls from such a wild place, a gateway that transports her to her own memories and experiences of being out in the wild, where her inner spirit was free to be released and untamed.

Designed for the free-spirited wearer, the collection evokes a sense of freedom, escapism, and adventure. To celebrate the collection, the campaign creative sees Leila out in the remote Kimberley region, dazzling in Paspaley jewellery, dancing freely, unencumbered, and wild.

Nature connects us to what’s real. Every piece in the Wild collection is a connection to that power, the raw honest beaut

The Month of the Pearl

June signifies the Month of the Pearl, a time when we celebrate the birthplace of Paspaley pearls and the start of our harvest season. To celebrate this special time, Paspaley boutiques hosted guests at a series of intimate events and unique experiences.

In Sydney, the new Oncore by Clare Smyth restaurant was the setting for the first dining experience of the month where guests were invited to view the Paspaley family’s private collection of exceptional pearls and taken on an immersive food journey, including a delicate dish of Paspaley Pearl Meat.

In Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Darwin, family members Christine Salter and Chris Paspaley delighted guests with the inspiration and innovative craftsmanship behind Paspaley’s Signature Collections.

For the first time our Master Stringer was also in our East Coast boutiques for a select period showcasing the art of the world’s most refined stringing technique to our clients in store.

Paspaley x The Art Gallery of New South Wales

In celebration of June, the Month of the Pearl, Paspaley proudly partnered with the Art Gallery of New South Wales, co-hosting two events including an evening of Pearls and the Baroque era.

This year, the Paspaley team reimaged our launch celebrations with a series of intimate presentations across Australia.

On arrival guests discovered the stunning Dive collection in a unique jewellery display with a blue motif that spoke to the underwater beauty of the collection. Ropes, chains and diver helmets also encompassed the unique and captivating story of our divers' world beneath the sea.

Celebrating Christmas at the Crown Sydney

This festive season, Paspaley and Crown Sydney have come together to create one of Australia’s most luxurious Christmas Trees in celebration of the hotel’s first Christmas in Sydney.

The tree is adorned with over fifty mother of pearl shells, 8,450 individual hand-wired pearl-inspired beads, 500 pearlescent Christmas baubles and topped with a spectacular star. Each mother of pearl shell was carefully drilled by hand in Paspaley’s Darwin Studio to create a hanging decoration.

Guests and visitors alike are able to view the Paspaley Christmas Tree in the lobby of the Crown Towers Sydney.

Dive is a tribute to our pearl divers who have explored the remote Kimberley coastline in search of the world’s finest pearls for generations.

Embracing the same intrepid spirit of adventurers who came long before them searching for shipwrecks loaded with Dutch guilders, our divers search for another elusive treasure: the wild Pinctada maxima oyster and the pearls they will create.

This collection features modern representations of ropes, chains, sharks and coins, to tell the unique and captivating story of the world beneath the sea.
